PhD Program

The PhD program in Air Traffic Control was opened in the spring semester of the 2013-2014 academic year. Students will be awarded a PhD degree in Air Traffic Control after their education. During their studies, students have the opportunity to use the SIMMOD accelerated time airport and airspace simulation tool, the ATC radar simulator, and the PANS-OPS laboratory. At the same time, the  Eskişehir Technical University Airport control tower allows students to develop projects in a real traffic environment.

 

For those who are accepted with a master's degree with thesis, regardless of whether they register for each semester starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they enrolled in are given, the maximum completion period is 8 semesters and the maximum completion period is 12 semesters for those accepted with a bachelor's degree is 10 semesters and the maximum completion period is 14 semesters.

 

The maximum time to complete the required credit courses is 4 semesters for those admitted with a master's degree with thesis and 6 semesters for those admitted with a bachelor's degree. At the end of these periods, the student who cannot complete the ECTS credit courses and seminar course in the curriculum or who has a course/courses with a letter grade of CD, DC, DD, FF, YZ or DZ or who cannot achieve a GPA of 3.00 is dismissed from the program.

 

The student who completes the credited courses, is successful in the doctoral qualifying exam, and whose doctoral thesis proposal is accepted, but fails to complete the doctoral thesis study until the end of 12 or 14 semesters specified in subparagraph (a), is dismissed from the program.
